The Safety Management program focuses on occupational health and safety for individuals working in oil and gas operations.

  • Personal Safety Programme - Levels 1 and 2 address the personal safety of any type of worker on the job.
  • Workplace Safety Management - Levels 1 and 2 cover the safety of the workplace from a supervisory/management perspective.

This program is an excellent complement to anyone taking our operations and maintenance training programs: Gas Process Operations, Liquefied Natural Gas (LNG) Process Operations, Production Field Operations, Thermal Production Operations and Power Engineering (Fifth, Fourth, Third, Second, First Class).

This training will benefit anyone in an oil and gas operations environment, which requires occupational health and safety knowledge to do their job more effectively, whether as a worker or in a supervisory/management role

Course Description

This Personal Safety Programme Level 1 course emphasizes the personal responsibility of job safety related to the individual worker, available for registration year-round . 

This course covers the following 15 modules:

  • Personal Protective Equipment
  • Hydrogen Sulphide Safety
  • Confined Space Entry
  • Isolation of Mechanical and Electrical Equipment
  • Purging and Ventilating
  • Introduction to Ladders, Scaffolding and Rigging
  • Introduction to Static Electricity
  • Handling and Storage of Gases
  • Handling of Hydrocarbon Fluids
  • Sampling of Hydrocarbons
  • Hydrocarbon Gas Sampling Methods
  • Hydrocarbon Liquid Sampling Methods
  • A sampling of Liquefied Petroleum Gases
  • A Sampling for Vapour Pressure of LPG

This Level 1 Workplace Safety Management course is designed for a supervisor who must manage safety in the workplace and be responsible for providing a safe work environment, available for registration year-round .
